The platform's name is Earth Sama, and it offers a suite of accessible tools — from a mobile application for data collection to a blockchain-based system for revenue distribution — to simplify participation in carbon markets for rural and Indigenous communities engaged in ecosystem restoration. Developed from practical field experience in reforestation and coral reef rehabilitation, the community-led carbon credit system is structured to ensure compliance with international climate agreements while prioritizing equitable benefit-sharing and transparent governance. This approach is intended to address historical barriers that have often excluded local communities from the financial benefits of carbon credit generation, thereby shifting control and economic returns toward those directly implementing conservation efforts.
