Amcor’s 'AmFiber™ Performance Paper' has been officially recognized as recyclable within Brazil’s mixed-paper stream—a meaningful step forward in sustainable packaging and the future of recycling solutions. With "Brazil’s paper recycling rate at 66.9% (IBÁ), Amcor set out to explore how shifting more packaging to AmFiber™ could strengthen the country’s recycling efforts."

To investigate, Amcor partnered with independent experts at MAPA S.A. and local recyclers to test AmFiber™ in real-world conditions. The team studied how the paper moved through key recycling stages like sorting, pulping, and reprocessing, while also identifying common challenges across paper types.

The outcome was clear: AmFiber™ met essential recyclability standards and performed reliably throughout the process. As such, these results show that switching to fiber-based solutions like AmFiber™ can support existing recycling systems and help advance Brazil’s circular economy goals.
