Pollution-Reducing Paint Murals

Veronica De Angelis' Yourban2030 has Launched 'Botanical Pulse'
Debra John — June 6, 2025Veronica De Angelis, founder of the nonprofit Yourban2030, has unveiled 'Botanical Pulse,' a landmark eco-mural in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen. Created by Italian artist Fabio Petani, this is the first U.S. mural by Yourban2030 and is painted entirely with Airlite—a pollution-reducing paint recognized by the United Nations for its environmental impact.
Using "light-activated technology, the mural purifies air by neutralizing pollutants equivalent to emissions from 43 cars per day, with lasting effects for up to 10 years." The project is part of the broader 'Walls of Tomorrow' initiative, which will bring 17 additional eco-murals to New York City, aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
De Angelis, also known for Rome’s 'Hunting Pollution' mural—the largest in Europe—continues her mission to transform public spaces into climate-conscious art platforms that combine environmental innovation with cultural storytelling.
