Brewed Beauty is a Sustainable Skincare Brand from U of G Students

University of Guelph students have created an innovative beauty brand rooted in ethical manufacturing practices. Brewed Beauty, as indicated by its name, is a sustainable brand focusing on delivering skin solutions using repurposed coffee grounds. The grounds, collected from various student coffee shops on campus grounds, are combined with coconut oil, sugar, and essential oil before being packed into mason jars for sale.
“Coffee reaps a lot of natural benefits,” said Luca Ghizzardi, the project lead for Brewed Beauty. “Caffeine helps in tightening the pores of the skin, creating a firming effect that many people like, and it’s a natural way of doing that. It’s a natural exfoliant, so it gets rid of dead skin.”
