Revitalized Mid-Century Scandinavian Furniture

Edward Gubi Presents the Design Preowned Exhibition

Edward Gubi's Design Preowned venture presents an innovative approach to sustainable furniture design during Copenhagen's 3daysofdesign. The showcase merges family heritage with contemporary environmental consciousness.

As a descendant of the renowned GUBI design dynasty, the 23-year-old entrepreneur has established a business model focused on rescuing and revitalizing overlooked mid-century Scandinavian furniture pieces by lesser-known designers. Rather than creating new products, the brand specializes in carefully restoring vintage finds and upcycling manufacturing waste into functional pieces, with a particular focus on serving the commercial interior market through contract sales. The Design Preowned exhibition space takes the form of a temporary restaurant fully furnished with these reclaimed items, complemented by original artworks from Edward's great-grandfather and sustainable Indian-inspired cuisine by chef Enayat Safi.

Design Preowned addresses pressing concerns about waste in the furniture industry by demonstrating how discarded or forgotten pieces can gain new relevance through thoughtful restoration.
