Compostable Garbage Bags

Malaysian sustainability company Earthya has introduced the Earthya Compostable Bag, a fully plastic-free solution developed over three years of research. Designed to break down entirely in natural environments or at home in a compost bin, the bag turns into plant fertilizer, offering a simple way for households to reduce waste and help combat Malaysia’s microplastic pollution problem.

The bags also prevent methane emissions that occur when food waste is sealed in conventional plastic bags. Enriched with calcium carbonate, the compost not only nourishes soil but also helps balance pH levels, improving overall soil quality. With Earthya bags, households can manage food waste responsibly while supporting multiple environmental benefits, from reducing plastic pollution to enhancing soil health.
