Emirates Supplies Recycled Backpacks to Mauritian Students
Kanesa D — April 7, 2026Emirates has donated 100 limited-edition school backpacks from its 'Aircrafted by Emirates' collection to students supported by APEIM (Association des Parents d’Enfants Inadaptés de l’Île Maurice), demonstrating its commitment to education and community development in Mauritius.
The backpacks are produced through the airline’s Aircrafted initiative, which repurposes materials from aircraft interiors, including fabrics from A380 and Boeing 777 fleets. Handcrafted by Emirates Engineering in Dubai, the bags are distributed to schools and community organizations across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
APEIM is a leading local organization supporting children and young people with intellectual disabilities through specialized education, therapy and vocational programs that promote independence and social inclusion.
The donation reflects Emirates’ broader efforts to support youth empowerment through education, training and future employment opportunities.
