Eco Compostable Coffee Pods

The Ahlstrom GreenPod Home portfolio is a new solution created by the fiber-based materials brand as a sustainable packaging innovation for the coffee market. The range is designed with the coffee pod market in mind and has earned the OK compost HOME certification from TÜV Austria, which means it will successfully break down when disposed of in domestic composts.

The material used for the pods also features a free-from composition that won't leave behind any residues or microplastics to strike a balance between convenience and sustainability for consumers. The range will be compatible with many converting lines and is rated to achieve optimal brewing performance.

Head of R&D Patrice Blanc spoke on the Ahlstrom GreenPod Home portfolio saying, "Demand for sustainable alternatives drives innovation in coffee markets. Although Ahlstrom was already able to offer industrially compostable solutions, this home compostable patent-pending solution is a major step forward."
