Lafarge Africa Plc Unveils Nigeria's First Low-Carbon Cement
Kanesa D — July 29, 2024Lafarge Africa Plc has unveiled ECOPlanet Unicem, an innovative product that stands as Nigeria’s first low-carbon multipurpose cement.
ECOPlanet Unicem is designed with a significant environmental advantage, achieving over a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional cement. The cement’s reduced carbon footprint is a critical step toward minimizing the environmental impact of construction activities, aligning with efforts to achieve lower greenhouse gas emissions and support sustainable development goals.
In addition to its environmental benefits, ECOPlanet Unicem is engineered to meet the high-performance standards required for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
“Despite its low-carbon nature, ECOPlanet provides superior performance, suitable for a wide range of applications, from complex infrastructure projects to residential buildings. The product is perfect for concreting, plastering, and on-site block-making,” he explained.
