Apple has announced the launch of the MacBook Neo, a milestone product in its roadmap to achieve full carbon neutrality by 2030. The device incorporates 60% recycled materials by weight—the highest proportion of any Apple product to date. Key components include 90% recycled aluminum in the chassis and 100% recycled cobalt in the battery.

The MacBook Neo’s enclosure is produced using a material-efficient forming process that reduces aluminum usage by 50% compared to conventional machining, maximizing sustainability without compromising durability. Apple highlights that the recycled aluminum enclosure is central to reaching the 60% recycled content benchmark, underscoring the company’s focus on both environmental impact and resource efficiency.
