Mercer Mass Timber Uses Sustainable Wood for Walmart's Home Office
Debra John — April 5, 2025Mercer Mass Timber has played a key role in building Walmart’s new Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas, the largest corporate campus in the U.S. to use sustainable mass timber. The project, which began in Spring 2024, highlights Walmart’s commitment to eco-friendly construction and reducing its environmental footprint.
By choosing mass timber, the campus significantly lowers its reliance on traditional concrete and steel, reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of renewable materials. Mercer Mass Timber supplied sustainably sourced wood for multiple office buildings, helping to create a workspace that blends innovation with environmental responsibility.
Set to open between late 2025 and early 2026, this project is designed to offer a healthier, nature-connected environment for Walmart employees while supporting sustainable forestry and responsible resource use.
