Ravenwood Introduces the Nobac 4 to Cut Label Waste
Georgia Wray Norsten — June 18, 2025UK-based Ravenwood Packaging has launched the 'Nobac 40,' an industry-first linerless 'flash' labelling machine that eliminates the need for backing paper on promotional labels. The Nobac 40 can apply small promotional labels (such as discount flashes or recipe tags) to the top or side of food packs at high speeds (up to ~130 packs per minute) without the need for traditional self-adhesive labels that use disposable silicone liners.
By utilizing Ravenwood’s linerless label technology, where labels are adhesive-coated and don’t require a peel-off backing, the system significantly reduces material waste and costs for packagers. It’s available as a standalone unit or an add-on to Ravenwood’s existing 'Nobac 5000' linerless applicators, making adoption flexible. The design is intentionally simple and precise for reliability on packing lines. Ravenwood also integrated a partnership with QUOR’s vision inspection system to ensure each label is placed and printed correctly, improving quality control.
