Sustainable Agriculture Initiatives
Sadot Group Inc. Announced the 'Outgrower' Initaitive
Colin Smith — June 12, 2024Sadot Group Inc. has launched the “Outgrower” initiative, a program designed to empower farmers and promote sustainable agriculture. The initiative is a response to the challenges of food security and aims to support farmers across various operational scales. Recognizing that many local farmers possess land but lack the resources for effective cultivation, Sadot Group Inc. provides essential agricultural inputs such as high-quality seeds and fertilizers, as well as access to the company’s agricultural expertise. The program also includes community workshops to share knowledge and best practices with local farmers, enabling them to confidently cultivate their crops with the support of Sadot’s market access facilitation.
The “Outgrower” initiative operates on a model where farmers retain 90% of the profits from sales, while the remaining 10% is reinvested to offset the initial costs incurred by Sadot. This approach not only enhances food security in local areas but also improves the livelihoods of participating farmers by ensuring fair pricing and stable income. Furthermore, the initiative aligns with government efforts to optimize farmland utilization and address issues such as maize scarcity. By connecting farmers directly with processors and global markets, the initiative fosters local employment and has a significant positive impact on regional food security.
