Creative Tech Textile's Seawool® is an innovative fabric that combines recycled oyster shells with PET plastic bottles to create a sustainable textile alternative for the fashion industry. This material addresses two significant environmental challenges simultaneously — marine waste from discarded oyster shells and plastic bottle pollution.
Seawool® boasts functional advantages, including moisture-wicking properties, UV protection, and thermal regulation, along with environmental benefits such as reduced water usage and lower production costs compared to conventional materials like wool or down. The annual production of this recycled oyster shells and PET plastic bottles composite is already reaching 2,500 tons as the innovative material is being adopted by major apparel brands.
The fabric’s circular production model aligns with growing demand for clothing that minimizes ecological harm, particularly among buyers seeking alternatives to petroleum-based synthetics or resource-intensive natural fibers.
