Athleisure Brand Circularity Efforts

Lululemon Partners with Samsara Eco
Debra John — June 13, 2025Samsara Eco, an Australian innovator in textile recycling, has entered a long-term partnership with Lululemon to advance circularity in the athletic apparel industry. Through a ten-year agreement, the Canadian retailer has committed to "sourcing up to 20% of the fibers used in its product portfolio from Samsara Eco’s recycled materials, which are derived from post-consumer nylon and polyester waste."
This initiative aligns with Lululemon’s broader sustainability strategy to reduce dependence on virgin, fossil fuel-based inputs by integrating next-generation materials. The collaboration builds on an existing relationship; Lululemon acquired a minority stake in Samsara Eco in 2023 to support scaling circular innovations and accelerate the adoption of recycled fibers in performance apparel.
“Scaling circular materials requires partnerships,” noted Ted Dagnese, Lululemon’s Chief Supply Chain Officer, highlighting the brand’s continued investment in low-impact solutions. As Lululemon works to expand its material innovation portfolio, the Samsara Eco partnership reinforces a long-term commitment to closed-loop design and sustainable manufacturing practices.
