Sarawak is set to showcase its commitment to clean energy leadership at the upcoming International Energy Week (IEW) 2025, scheduled to take place from July 15-17 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. The event, themed "From Sarawak to the World: Journey to Clean Energy Leadership," aims to position Sarawak as a global leader in sustainable energy. The summit will feature cutting-edge advancements in renewable energy technologies, including hydrogen power, solar energy, and carbon capture. Organized by Informa Markets Malaysia in partnership with the Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, the event is expected to attract over 6,500 attendees from more than 25 countries, with participation from over 400 companies and industry leaders.
The IEW 2025 aligns with Sarawak's Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030, serving as a platform to promote renewable energy initiatives and attract investment opportunities. The event will deliver actionable policy recommendations and foster collaborations beyond the summit, solidifying Sarawak's role as a hub for clean energy innovation within the ASEAN region. Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg is expected to launch the event, highlighting the state's dedication to spearheading the global transition towards clean energy. This initiative underscores Sarawak's commitment to sustainability and its efforts to drive innovation and international collaborations in the renewable energy sector.
