Suffolk Launched the 'Climate Tech Forum' to Unite Industry Leaders
Colin Smith — June 25, 2025Suffolk convened its inaugural Climate Tech Forum on March 25, 2025, at its Boston headquarters, co-hosted by Suffolk’s Sustainability Group and Suffolk Technologies, the company’s venture capital arm. The one-day event assembled over 150 participants, including investors, entrepreneurs, contractors, designers, and public officials, with the objective of identifying and overcoming adoption barriers to climate technology within the construction sector. Structured around interactive breakout sessions, startup pitches, and real-world case studies, the Forum centered on three thematic pillars: circularity in material use, industrial decarbonization strategies, and the deployment of data-driven sustainability tools.
During the Forum, presenters showcased emerging solutions such as Sublime Systems’ low-carbon cement alternatives, Pozzotive’s process for converting post-consumer glass into concrete additives, and Tangible’s AI-powered lifecycle assessment platform. Discussions emphasized the need for scalable, cost-effective innovations that reduce greenhouse gas emissions—currently attributable to nearly 40 percent of global building-related emissions—without compromising project efficiency or economic viability. Suffolk’s leadership underscored a long-term commitment to disseminating best practices and creating implementation frameworks, with the goal of catalyzing industry-wide adoption of low-carbon construction methods.
