Tetra Pak and Schoeller Allibert Craft Crates Using Beverage Cartons

Tetra Pak and Schoeller Allibert are launching new series of transport crates that use 'polyAI,' a new product derived from recycled beverage cartons. By combining polyAl with other recycled materials—without relying on virgin plastics—these crates offer a more sustainable alternative for logistics and distribution.

Following successful validation, Tetra Pak intends to replace over 50,000 crates at its global spare parts distribution center in Lund, Sweden, marking a significant step toward circular packaging solutions.

Beyond its collaboration with Tetra Pak, Schoeller Allibert is actively partnering with additional companies to expand the adoption of polyAl in returnable transport packaging, reinforcing the industry’s shift toward more environmentally responsible supply chain practices.

“We will continue to work with recyclers around the world to develop commercially viable products and expand their end market, thereby helping to reduce virgin plastic use and driving progress towards a circular economy," said Tetra Pak sustainability operations vice-president Kinga Sieradzon.
