The Lycra Company Launches its Renewable Elastane Product at Kingpins
Kanesa D — April 17, 2025The Lycra Company is set to spotlight its latest innovation in sustainable stretch technology at Kingpins Amsterdam on April 16–17, where it will debut denim samples made with seed quantities of its bio-derived Lycra® EcoMade fiber. This next-generation elastane, developed in collaboration with Qira, is crafted from annually renewable dent corn grown in Iowa. Composed of 70% renewable content, the new fiber is expected to reduce Lycra’s carbon footprint by up to 44%.
In addition to the product showcase, attendees will be invited to take part in an immersive virtual experience that traces the journey of the fiber "from farm to fabric," demonstrating the company's dedication to sustainable innovation and traceability. The fiber is slated for commercial launch later in 2025.
