Upcycled Troll Statues

Recycling artist Thomas Dambo is introducing a new project as a part of 'Trail of a Thousand Trolls,' a creative endeavor focusing on the creation of troll sculptures using reclaimed materials. As a part of this project, Dambo and his team craft 25 trolls annually, using everything from wooden pallets to old wine barrels and discarded furniture. As a part of the designer's recent project, 170 sculptures were created and six were placed on display at Filoli, a 650-acre estate with gardens and forests. The exhibit, dubbed 'Trolls Save the Humans,' weaves stories inspired by each trolls unique character and backstory.

“I believe we can create anything from anything,” said Dambo, speaking from his farm near Copenhagen. “We’re overwhelmed with waste, but one man’s trash truly can be another’s treasure.”
