North Carolina-based design studio TRASHY is tackling styrofoam, one of the hardest materials to recycle, by transforming it into stylish, functional furniture. Through a creative blend of reclaimed styrofoam and concrete, TRASHY is closing a critical waste loop while offering a new perspective on sustainability in design.

With the debut of its 2025 collection, TRASHY is reshaping how we think about materials. The lineup features sculptural pieces like the Dune Coffee Table, Dune Side Table, Dune Dining Table, and the Wave of Change Side Table—each one created through a process that diverts otherwise non-degradable styrofoam from landfills and gives it a second life as lightweight, durable concrete furniture.

For every square foot of concrete produced, the company repurposes between 40 to 50 cubic feet of styrofoam.
