Amorepacific Created an Upcycled Bench from Empty Cosmetic Bottles

To mark World Environment Day, Amorepacific created an upcycled bench design that it plans to install in public facilities. The bench design was created with empty cosmetic bottles and the aid of public facilities and Radio-B. For the project, Amorepacific developed a first-of-its-kind terrazzo by mixing plastic cosmetic bottle powder with ultra-high performance concrete. A bench uses 1,400 empty bottles and due to the timing of the release, a potted plant at the center of the furniture piece helps to encourage social distancing.
Going forward, Amorepacific has plans to use its recycled cosmetics bottle terrazzo in stores and in the GREENCYCLE campaign, which is devoted to corporate social responsibility, recycling and upcycling.
