Estée Lauder Leverages AI for Adaptive Manufacturing
Georgia Wray Norsten — August 7, 2025Estée Lauder’s latest supply chain transformation leverages AI for Adaptive Manufacturing. In partnership with Microsoft and Zero100, the Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) is reshaping its global operations with a tech-forward, sustainability-driven strategy that balances efficiency and responsibility.
Guided by EVP Roberto Canevari, ELC is shifting toward a more agile manufacturing model -- targeting faster product launches and reduced inventory. AI plays a central role, enabling predictive capabilities for demand forecasting, operational efficiency, and inventory optimization. At the Oevel campus in Belgium -- processing 60% of global volume -- upgrades include energy-efficient systems and waste reduction measures, reinforcing the brand’s environmental commitment.
Nancy Mahon, ELC’s Chief Sustainability Officer, affirms that AI supports transparency and fairness in the supply chain, even as others retreat from ESG commitments. By investing in AI skill development and collaborating with strategic partners, Estée Lauder is proving that tech and purpose can coexist -- and drive profitability.
