Circular Cosmetic Recycling Partnerships

Albion Introduces a New Cosmetics Packaging Partnership

In a new sustainable partnership, Albion has partnered with Refinverse to enhance the recovery and sorting of waste container plastics from domestic sources. Once processed, these innovative materials will serve as raw inputs for further recycling applications.

The reclaimed plastics will undergo chemical recycling at Mitsubishi Chemical’s newly established facility in Ibaraki, where they will be converted into oil through a mass balance approach. This oil will then be refined into polypropylene resin, which Japan Polypropylene will utilize to manufacture new, sustainable cosmetic containers.

By integrating advanced recycling technologies and collaborative efforts across the supply chain, this initiative aims to close the loop on plastic waste, reducing environmental impact while promoting circularity in the cosmetics packaging industry.
