The American Dairy Association North East, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners, and the Noblehurst Farms joined forces to dismantle an 800-pound butter sculpture at the New York State Fairgrounds. The 57th iteration of this butter-forward tradition was supplied by O-AT-KA Milk Products in Batavia, NY.

The 57th Annual Butter Sculpture was sent to a Western New York dairy farm, which is equipped with an anaerobic digestion system. At this facility, the butter will be combined with manure and other organic waste sourced from local businesses and institutions. Through a biological process, this mixture is broken down to generate methane gas, which is subsequently used to produce electrical power. This energy is primarily utilized to operate the farm's own facilities and its processing plant. Some of it is also supplied to the regional power grid, contributing to the needs of hundreds of surrounding households.
