CelluForce has launched CelluShield, a high-performance, eco-friendly coating for flexible packaging. Made from renewable cellulose and water-based, CelluShield helps packaging resist moisture and oxygen, keeping products fresh without relying on hard-to-recycle materials.

The coating also supports recyclable, single-material packaging, making it easier for manufacturers to meet sustainability goals while maintaining product protection and shelf life. The project taps Natural Resources Canada’s Transformative Technology Program, and is also supported by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).

“Brand owners and converters no longer need to choose between performance and recyclability,” says Sebastien Corbeil, President and CEO of CelluForce. “With CelluShield, we are giving the packaging industry a practical solution that protects products, reduces carbon footprint, and simplifies recycling, all with a water-based technology that runs on existing equipment.”
