The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has launched the Consumer Technology Circularity Initiative (CTCI), bringing together brands like Lenovo and LG to accelerate circularity in the electronics industry. CTCI promotes responsible sourcing, improved repairability, and expanded recycling infrastructure. Lenovo committed to recovering 800 million pounds of product waste by 2025/26, while LG pledged to use 600,000 tons of recycled plastic in products by 2030. The initiative aims to harmonize industry metrics and encourage collaboration between manufacturers, recyclers, and policymakers. CTCI will also offer guidance to help smaller companies scale sustainable practices. The group is expected to release its first progress report later this year.

CTCI unifies industry efforts and provides a platform for innovation and accountability. Members may gain a competitive edge in ESG performance, customer trust, and compliance as regulations tighten on e-waste and material sourcing.
