Apple is encouraging customers to recycle their Apple accessories with a new in-store promotion offering up to 10% off select items. Running from April 16 to May 16, this initiative gives customers up to $20 in savings when they return used accessories that typically aren’t eligible for trade-in, such as 'AirPods,' 'Apple Pencil,' 'AirTags,' watch bands, and 'Mac' peripherals.

This marks the first time Apple has directly linked its recycling program to consumer discounts for smaller accessories. Traditionally, Apple allows free in-store recycling, but without any purchase incentive. With this limited-time offer, the company is turning e-waste reduction into a more rewarding experience, especially ahead of Earth Month and its broader 2030 carbon-neutral goals.

The initiative aims to draw attention to the lifecycle of tech accessories, many of which are challenging to reuse or resell. By offering a modest financial incentive, Apple is reducing landfill waste and aligning consumer behavior with its long-term sustainability vision.
