SKT Introduces 'Eco Letter' to Promote Sustainable Living
Georgia Wray Norsten — April 24, 2025SK Telecom (SKT) has introduced its 'Eco Letter' initiative designed to help individuals actively participate in eco-conscious behaviors and maximize rewards through South Korea’s carbon neutrality points program. Built as an add-on to SKT’s existing digital billing service, Bill Letter, this new feature extends the company's commitment to environmental responsibility.
By transitioning users from paper to electronic billing, Bill Letter has already saved the equivalent of 110,000 trees. Eco Letter now takes this a step further by offering actionable insights and incentives. For a monthly fee of KRW 3,300, users receive location-based tips on where to earn carbon points, guidance on eligible products, and access to the “Green Living Challenge,” which tracks household energy use and sets savings targets.
Additional benefits include monthly discount coupons for eco-friendly purchases and even insurance coverage for bicycle accidents, reinforcing sustainable choices in daily life. By monetizing eco-conscious behavior and leveraging government-backed incentives, SKT strengthens customer loyalty, creates recurring revenue, and enhances its corporate sustainability credentials in a highly competitive telecom market.
