Fashion for Good and Arvind Reinvent Textile Manufacturing

Fashion for Good and Arvind are focusing their attention on Tier 2 factories. In an initiative aimed at balancing environmental impact with economic viability, the duo has launched a two-pronged project to transform these essential production sites.

The effort includes developing a comprehensive framework for sustainable manufacturing practices and establishing a state-of-the-art facility designed to slash greenhouse gas emissions by up to 93% compared to conventional factories. By reimagining the way raw materials are processed, this collaboration could redefine the environmental footprint of fashion from the ground up.

“By developing a blueprint and working with Arvind to build an actual facility that addresses the challenges of Tier 2 manufacturing – where 52% of the industry’s CO2 emissions and almost all water and chemical usage occurs – we can demonstrate real-world solutions that drive systemic change," said Fashion for Good managing director Katrin Ley.
