Reduced Plastic Tubes

Bulldog Skincare Cuts Plastic Use with New Lightweight Tubes from Amcor
Georgia Wray Norsten — June 13, 2025Reduced plastic tubes are at the center of a new sustainability milestone achieved by Amcor in partnership with men’s skincare brand Bulldog. The packaging innovator has successfully reduced the wall thickness of Bulldog’s 50mm diameter flexible tubes by 16.67%, resulting in approximately 8.5 metric tonnes of plastic being cut annually across its 100ml and 150ml products. The updated tubes maintain full functionality -- including squeezability, print quality, and compatibility with existing components -- while also increasing the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic to over 62%.
This advancement builds on Bulldog’s long-standing commitment to sustainable packaging, which has included sugarcane-derived bioplastics since 2017. Amcor’s redesign exemplifies how technical precision and brand alignment can deliver both performance and environmental benefits without compromising consumer experience.
This success in lightweighting reinforces Amcor’s leadership in sustainable packaging and deepens its value proposition to eco-minded consumer brands. For Bulldog, the shift enhances environmental credibility in a competitive personal care market -- supporting consumer trust, regulatory compliance, and circular economy goals.
