Global Outdoor Brands Unite to Launch a Standardized Product Data Toolkit

Global outdoor brands have come together to launch a toolkit designed to bring consistency and transparency to product data across the outdoor industry. Building on the Material Facts methodology pioneered by UK-based brand Rab in October 2023, this new industry-wide initiative was developed with input from top brands and retailers across the UK, Europe, the U.S., and Canada.

The new toolkit has been shaped by a diverse set of outdoor leaders, including public participants such as Exped, Go Outdoors, Oberalp Group, Rab, Red Equipment, and Tiso. The goal is to equip both brands and retailers with a unified system for communicating product information like materials and sourcing to environmental and social impacts in a clear, comparable format.

Originally introduced by Rab to address the demand for transparent and responsible production, the Material Facts methodology helps consumers and buyers to make informed choices and supports compliance with emerging ESG and due diligence regulations.
