The Seoul Metropolitan Government is officially launching its new eco-friendly Hangang Bus ferry service on September 18, following a successful three-month trial. The service will operate along a 28.9 km route with seven stops, including Magok, Yeouido, Apgujeong, and Jamsil, offering a new way for residents and visitors to travel across the city.
Starting with eight vessels, the system marks Korea’s first public water transit. Ferries will run daily from 11 AM to 9:37 PM, with 14 trips spaced about every hour to 90 minutes. All ships are designed with sustainability in mind. Four units are fully electric with zero emissions, and eight are hybrids that cut carbon output by over 50% compared to traditional diesel boats.
