Compostable Skincare Packaging

Wildsmith has unveiled its latest innovation: the Hydrating Light Cream, launched in partnership with sustainable packaging pioneer Shellworks. Housed in a 100% compostable Vivomer jar with fully recyclable outer packaging, the product marks a bold step in Wildsmith’s ongoing commitment to eco-conscious beauty.

Formula-wise, the Hydrating Light Cream hydrates skin using a slow-release technology and an essential oil blend composed of linden, lavender, chamomile, neroli, and red mandarin. Other ingredients include niacinamide, English barley ferment, and Pentavitin.

Developed from a plant-based biopolymer, Vivomer mimics the strength of plastic but breaks down naturally in home compost—beginning to decompose in just 12 weeks, with no trace left behind by one year. Designed to be functional and entirely waste-free, this packaging is an example of what sustainable luxury can look and feel like.
