Kiilto Unveils its Innovative Hot-Melt Adhesive for European Packaging

Kiilto has launched a new hot-melt adhesive engineered to address two growing priorities in European packaging: ensuring strong performance with recycled fiber materials and maintaining reliability throughout cold-chain distribution. Developed at Kiilto’s Lempäälä facility, the adhesive is formulated with 97% biobased ingredients and is designed to hold up under both refrigerated and frozen conditions.
As recycling rates rise, adhesives must perform consistently even when fiber quality varies or when substrates become less porous—an area where traditional adhesives often fall short. Kiilto’s new formulation, Kiiltomelt EVO R 20, incorporates renewable raw materials, including forest-industry by-products, tall oil, and sugarcane-based components.
According to the company, the adhesive delivers strength and durability on par with fossil-derived options, with particular advantages in low-temperature environments where many conventional packaging adhesives tend to weaken.
