L’Occitane en Provence Debuts its First Bottle Using Bio-Based Recycled PET

L’Occitane en Provence is aligning with the demand for sustainable packaging materials by releasing its own 100% recycled PET bottle. The bottle was crafted in collaboration with Carbios and utilized its enzymatic recycling technology to break down PET waste into monomers that can be repolymerized for new PET products. The recycled PET offers complete transparency and shine, setting it apart from mechanically recycled options, and reduces CO2 by 92% compared to virgin PET derived from fossil resources.

"[...] Following the success of a first reference in 2024, we are demonstrating our ability to roll out this innovation across other iconic ranges, without ever compromising the elegance of our packaging. Each additional bottle is a concrete step towards our goal of eliminating virgin plastic and building a high-performing circular economy for our packaging," said L’Occitane en Provence Packaging R&D Director David Bayard.
