'M/Sa' is a New Label from Fashion Designer Sakina M'Sa
Colin Smith — August 29, 2025Samsung designer Sakina M’Sa will present her debut collection for M/SA—short for Makers of Sustainable Aesthetics—on June 29 at the Carreau du Temple, marking her return to the Paris runway with a gender-neutral luxury ready-to-wear line aimed at multi-brand retailers. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection, titled “The Pure,” incorporates upcycled materials for 80 percent of its components, including deadstock luxury fabrics, unsold garments donated by brands, and fibers sourced from European textile sorting centers. Production takes place at the Berlier manufacturing site in Paris’s 13th arrondissement, where a social reintegration workshop employs individuals from diverse backgrounds to craft each piece by hand.
With M/SA, M’Sa seeks to scale up her sustainable and upcycled fashion model to meet growing production demands without compromising on quality or design. The label reflects her belief that sustainability must be paired with aesthetic desirability, a principle she has upheld since founding her first eponymous brand in 2001 and refining through collaborations and capsule lines for Monoprix and La Redoute. Beyond ethical sourcing, M/SA continues M’Sa’s long-standing commitment to social impact, providing skilled work opportunities for those with challenging life paths and reinforcing fashion as a tool for empowerment and inclusion.
