Molecularly Traceable Sustainable Packaging

SMX and Bio-Packaging have launched molecularly traceable sustainable packaging, embedding SMX’s invisible molecular marker into Bio-Packaging’s PCR, biodegradable, and certified-compostable product lines. This innovation allows every bag or film to be scanned at multiple lifecycle stages -- production, distribution, use, and end-of-life -- creating a tamper-proof digital record on SMX’s blockchain platform. The system verifies recycled content, biodegradability, and compliance with Singapore’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme.

For Bio-Packaging, which supplies supermarkets, food-service operators, and retailers, the integration adds credibility to its eco-friendly products by offering measurable proof of sustainability. Regulators and brands gain access to verified data, while consumers benefit from assurance against greenwashing. The collaboration also positions Singapore as a leader in transparent, accountable packaging solutions, with ambitions to scale across Asia-Pacific markets.
