Print Industry Groups Promote Sustainable Paper Receipts

Two Sides, a global print and paper advocacy organization, announced that the European Converted Paper Association (ECPA) has joined its network to champion the sustainability of paper receipts. Two Sides welcomed ECPA -- which represents Europe’s receipt paper and converted paper industry -- as its newest member to help dispel myths about paper waste and highlight the recyclability and necessity of paper receipts in commerce.
The collaboration coincides with growing regulatory scrutiny of paper receipts (due to chemical coatings and waste concerns) and the push toward digital alternatives. Through joint campaigns, research, and consumer outreach, Two Sides and ECPA aim to highlight that modern receipt paper is increasingly sustainably sourced, recyclable, and often preferred by consumers for record-keeping purposes. They will also promote innovations (like phenol-free paper and better recycling streams) to further improve the environmental footprint of receipts.
