Pingree Detroit is Opening Its First Store in the Downtown Area

Pingree Detroit has officially opened its first retail location at 22 W. Columbia Street, launching on Tuesday, November 11. The store will feature a curated selection of shoes, bags, and accessories, alongside a street-facing workshop where visitors can observe products being crafted on select days.
Operating as a worker-owned cooperative, Pingree Detroit empowers its employees with ownership stakes and shares 77% of profits locally through reinvestment or distribution. The company prioritizes hiring Detroit residents and U.S. military veterans, while diverting over 55,000 pounds of leather, vinyl, and seat belts from landfills.
The boutique joins a vibrant local scene that includes popular eateries like Frita Batidos and fellow Detroit-based brand Detroit vs. Everybody along the stretch between Park Avenue and Woodward Avenue, near Comerica Park.
