Corporate Plastic Waste Initiatives

Montreal-based Polykar Inc., a leader in plastic film manufacturing and recycling, has unveiled PolyVie, a pioneering pilot program designed to turn corporate plastic waste into valuable, reusable materials. This initiative marks a collaborative effort between Polykar and four prominent Quebec-based organizations—EssilorLuxottica, Majestic International, Moneris Solutions Corp., and Stanpro—spanning sectors from eyewear and fashion to fintech and lighting.

PolyVie aims to demonstrate how industrial plastic waste can be effectively diverted from landfills and reintroduced into the production cycle. According to Polykar, the program has already achieved an impressive 96% recycling rate, repurposing thousands of pounds of plastic into new, commercially viable products at its recycling facility.

Polykar is committed to reducing waste but is also setting a compelling example of how closed-loop solutions can power the circular economy in Canada’s manufacturing landscape.
