Ethically Made Fiber Trays
Preferred Packaging Debuts Recyclable and Compostable Fiber Trays
Kanesa D — September 12, 2025Preferred Packaging, part of C-P Flexible Packaging, has unveiled its new GreenStream™ fiber trays designed for packaged meals. These trays are made from natural plant fibers, making them both compostable and curbside recyclable in communities with paper recycling programs. Each tray features multiple compartments and a peelable liner with a tab, making it easy to remove food residues before recycling or composting.
The trays are microwave, freezer, and oven-safe, PFAS-free, and built to resist oil, moisture, and leaks, all without discoloring. Constructed from bagasse plant fibers and manufactured without generating wastewater, GreenStream™ trays provide a strong, sustainable solution for brands seeking to reduce their environmental impact and comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.
“GreenStream™ fiber trays give prepared meals a sustainable packaging upgrade without sacrificing performance,” says Chadd Floria, General Manager of Preferred Packaging. “We engineered our fiber trays to provide brands with an economical solution that reduces environmental impact and complies with evolving packaging regulations.”
