American-Focused Recycling Options

Coca-Cola Partners with Pro Sport Teams for a New Project

Coca-Cola Consolidated, the largest Coca-Cola bottler in the U.S., is working on new ways to improve recycling and support the environment through its 'Refresh. Recycle. Renew.' initiative. This program focuses on building better recycling systems and working with local partners to promote a more circular economy.

In Washington, D.C., Coca-Cola Consolidated teamed up with the Washington Capitals hockey team and the nonprofit Rink2Reef to turn broken hockey sticks into special reef structures. These reefs can "support up to 400 oysters each, helping restore ocean habitats." Healthy oyster reefs are important because they support marine life and help clean the water, but they’re under threat from pollution and climate change. The company also worked to remove invasive plant species that harm native trees, which are important for improving air quality.

Other creative projects include recycling machines at amusement parks that reward people for returning plastic bottles, and local efforts like the Recycle Dat! campaign in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Together, these efforts show Coca-Cola Consolidated’s commitment to sustainability and cleaner communities.
