Biodegradable Hard Drives

The Conceptual 'Soft Drive' by Sree Krishna Pillarisetti is Mindful

The conceptual 'Soft Drive' has been designed by Sree Krishna Pillarisetti as a hard drive that takes a different approach to data storage with a biodegradable build.

The drive is constructed with a portable design that has a shell crafted out of mycelium alongside hemp and bioplastics sourced from waste materials. The translucent case allows the texture of the organic materials to be visible from the exterior, which are wrapped around a traditional memory card and heat sink. The drive is rated to hold up to 8GB of data to work for everyday purposes instead of competing with unlimited cloud storage services.

The conceptual 'Soft Drive' takes an eco-friendly approach to data management, but also a somewhat romantic one that's more mindful about files.
