Upcycled Carton-Made Postcards

Starbucks Korea Creates a Mailbox for its Eco-Friendly Postcards
Kanesa D — June 13, 2025Starbucks Korea has introduced a unique “slow mailbox” experience at its Jeju Sehwa drive-thru location, marking the first collaboration of its kind with the Jeju Regional Post Office. Announced on the 8th, this initiative invites customers to write messages on eco-friendly postcards crafted from upcycled milk cartons. These cartons, collected from 58 Starbucks stores in Daejeon, can be dropped into the special mailboxes and delivered to recipients. These postcards will be mailed out exactly one year later, offering a reflective, time-capsule-style interaction.
This meaningful addition aligns with the mission of the Jeju Sehwa drive-thru store, which opened in November 2023 as a community-focused location. For every item sold, Starbucks Korea contributes 300 won toward local environmental programs, including efforts in resource upcycling.
