Refiberd, a U.S.-based startup specializing in AI-driven textile recycling, has received $300,000 in funding through eBay's Circular Fashion Fund initiative. The investment, awarded through eBay Ventures, recognizes Refiberd as the Circular Fashion Innovator of the Year.

Refiberd's AI-driven textile recycling technology uses artificial intelligence to precisely identify fabric compositions. In doing so, the company is able to improve accuracy of textile sorting and recycling processes. By integrating this system into existing recycling infrastructure, Refiberd aims to reduce waste and enhance the efficiency of converting discarded textiles into reusable materials.

With increasing awareness of the environmental impact of textile waste, technologies like Refiberd’s could help brands and recyclers transition toward a circular economy. eBay’s broader Circular Fashion Fund, which has committed $1.2 million in grants and mentorship by the end of 2025, supports similar innovations across multiple countries, including repair services, upcycling platforms, and AI-powered resale tools.
