KHAAR Offers Distinctive Pieces Made from Fabric Scraps and Waste
Debra John — February 11, 2026KHAAR is a Vietnamese apparel label focused on addressing textile waste through the creation of fashion pieces made from recycled fabric scraps and discarded materials. The brand adopts a sustainability-led design approach that prioritizes waste reduction, local sourcing, and material reuse without compromising garment quality or functionality. Founded by designer Kha Hoang Ngo, KHAAR emerged from his experience with large-scale textile waste within the fashion industry and his early experimentation with scrap-based collections.
Approximately half of KHAAR’s garments are fully handcrafted from recycled textiles, while the remaining pieces incorporate recycled details to ensure durability and wearability. Materials are sourced locally and include "repurposed industrial packaging as well as biodegradable and low-impact fabrics such as linen, hemp, silk, organic cotton, cupro, lyocell, and EcoVero rayon."
By combining traditional craftsmanship, innovative material reuse, and culturally informed design, KHAAR promotes circular fashion practices and demonstrates how creative reuse can contribute to reducing textile waste and environmental impact.
