Toyota Aisin Philippines Renewed its Clean Energy Partnership
Colin Smith — April 5, 2025Toyota Aisin Philippines (TAP) has renewed its partnership with MPower, the retail electricity unit of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), to advance its sustainability goals and enhance energy efficiency. This collaboration, which began in 2013, has evolved to focus on renewable energy solutions, with TAP transitioning to 100% renewable energy by December 2019. The renewed agreement ensures a reliable and cost-effective energy supply for TAP's manufacturing facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, which is the first manual transmission manufacturing plant established outside Japan by Toyota Motor Corporation and Aisin Corporation. The partnership underscores TAP's commitment to maintaining high production standards while aligning with global carbon neutrality objectives.
