Danish wind energy leader Vestas announced a new wind turbine order totaling 65 MW to be installed in northern Germany. The contract, disclosed on May 5, is for a project named Kloddram and will use Vestas’s V162-7.2 MW turbines -- among the most powerful onshore models. The deal includes a 20-year service agreement, underscoring a long-term partnership with the local energy developer. Delivery of the turbines is expected in late 2026 with commissioning by mid-2027.

This order contributes to Vestas’s second-quarter sales intake, and the company highlighted it as a sign of continued momentum in the German market following recent policy support for renewables. Each new order bolsters Vestas’s revenue pipeline, and a 65 MW project is sizable enough to be strategically important. It suggests that despite higher commodity prices or supply chain woes in 2025, European wind power demand remains strong as countries push to hit climate targets.
