Fully Electric Performance Hatchbacks

Lancia Revives High-Performance Line with a New 'Ypsilon HF'

Historic Italian automaker Lancia (part of Stellantis) has unveiled the 'Ypsilon HF,' a fully electric performance hatchback marking the brand’s return to its sporty roots. Debuted at the Balocco proving ground, the Ypsilon HF packs a 280-horsepower (207 kW) electric motor that propels it 0–100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. A 54 kWh lithium battery yields around 370 km range (WLTP) and supports fast-charging (adding 100 km in 10 minutes). The EV features chassis upgrades such as a widened track and enhanced suspension for agility, plus design nods to Lancia’s racing heritage (including a modernized 'HF' badge with the iconic elephant symbol).

Alongside the EV, Lancia also introduced the 'Ypsilon HF Line' -- a 110-hp mild hybrid variant delivering a modest 105 g/km CO2 -- and even a Ypsilon Rally4 HF customer race car for rally competitions. The hybrid HF Line is already reaching showrooms, while the electric Ypsilon HF will formally launch after summer 2025. These models aim to rejuvenate Lancia’s image by blending sustainable powertrains with the performance and style that once made Lancia famous among enthusiasts. It’s the first new Lancia production car in years, kicking off the marque’s planned renaissance with an electrified lineup.
